High Quality Throw Pillows + Pillow Inserts
- When I began this pillow journey, I knew very little about sourcing textiles or designing throw pillows. What I did know was design and how to create a brand. Since I could remember, I have loved interior design and over the years friends and family would ask me to help them decorate... it wasn't until I flipped my 1995 fixer-upper and posted photos to Instagram that my design hobby would turn into an actual career.
- When it came to designing a space, throw pillows were always the main focal point. The biggest issue I had was I never could find throw pillows that didn't look cheap or "kitschy". For years I would make my own pillows, curtains, or whatever DIY I could come up with to make a space feel unique and not like something you'd find off of a shelf at a big box store. It wasn't until in 2019 a colleague asked if I would take over her small shop that included baby items, blankets, and you guessed it throw pillows... Over that next year, I restructured the company, sold all of the baby items to a local boutique, and decided to make Laurel and Blush strictly a home decor shop. With a love for interior design throw pillows quickly went from a new obsession to a full-blown company.
- "They're not cheap" - that's right. We could make them cheaper, but if we did that they would look like those Kitshy pillows that grace the aisles of big box stores. We wanted to create a pillow that when someone walks into your home they don't look at it and say "Oh I saw that at Target". It's the "oh my gosh, where did you get that pillow" that does it for me. They wouldn't last as long, they wouldn't be made of quality materials, and they wouldn't be individually hand-inspected for quality. They wouldn't be Laurel and Blush. It's safe to say Laurel and Blush will never be cheap, and that's a good thing because you'll always get what you pay for.
